Big topic, but small easy steps.

At Soul Sporty, we believe that sustainability doesn’t mean we must sacrifice our quality of life or the things we love. You have the power to make easy, everyday eco-conscious decisions to help create a better environment for everyone, especially for our next generation. We’ve put together a few ways you can incorporate sustainability in your daily life.
1. Recycle and Reuse
There are so many things we use in our daily lives that can easily be recycled and reused. For example, did you know you can reuse spaghetti jars as vases or drinking containers? You can even reuse trimmings from your vegetables as mulch for your plants. Regardless, looking for a second purpose out of all your materials contributes to a greener earth. And! You may just feel so inspired with what you're able to do!
2. Turn Off Light Switches
Unfortunately, one of the easiest ways to energy is wasted is by keeping lights on when you don’t need them. The light bulbs you typically find in your household are an inefficient type of lighting because most of the energy is given off as heat, meaning—it wastes a ton of electricity to keep it on. Get in the habit of turning it off whenever you leave a room. A little switch can go a long way.
3. Shop Sustainable Brands
Choosing to support brands committed to sustainability and slow fashion is an easy way to make a huge impact. There are sustainable alternatives available for just about every type of product you use, from cleaning supplies to makeup and clothing. If you’re unsure where to start, a quick online search can help you find sustainable brands. This is something we're constantly learning as well!
4. Keep A Reusable Water Bottle
When you choose to carry around a reusable water bottle, you’re helping the environment while encouraging yourself to drink more water. With more than 300 million tons of plastic being produced every year, it’s essential to find ways to cut back on plastic waste. By using a reusable water bottle, you’re helping to slow the impact on sea life from plastic dump into our beautiful oceans.
5. Choose Public Transportation
If possible, instead of driving yourself to work every day, choose an alternative, sustainable methods such as car pool, use public transportation, walking or biking if that's a workable option. All of these are a great way to gain exercise, meet new people and help the earth all at the same time.
Doing our part to support a more sustainable planet can help protect our future generations and preserve our beautiful earth. No one is perfect, but trying to incorporate small steps or ways to be more responsible and reducing waste is beneficial for everyone. Start today by applying one of the above tips into your life to see how you, too, can contribute to an eco-conscious and sustainable lifestyle!
